GearHeadGus Posted 15/05/2024 Share Posted 15/05/2024 Hey guys, has anyone used Sinto Shield for a car purchase? Thinking of using escrow and wanted to know if its legit. Specifically thinking about a used car from a private seller.
TechTim Posted 16/05/2024 Share Posted 16/05/2024 I've heard of Sinto Shield. They seem to be a bit more costly than other escrow services, as far as I know. Anyone know the fees for private sales? Would be great if user can also share their overall experience with used car purchases.
MechanicMike Posted 17/05/2024 Share Posted 17/05/2024 As a mechanic, I always advise caution with escrow. I've seen some shady stuff in the past. Make sure they have a good inspection process, and that the vehicle also gets a proper inspection with a decent mechanic. I'd like to hear feedback about a used car purchase from Sinto Shield and the quality of their inspection services.
CarLoverLinda Posted 18/05/2024 Share Posted 18/05/2024 I used an escrow service when I bought my '67 Mustang last year. It was an older classic and it was a huge relief! The seller was great, everything went smoothly, and I'm happy. Would be great to see some Sinto Shield feedback about their escrow process for classic cars. FastEddie Posted 19/05/2024 Share Posted 19/05/2024 I tried to use Sinto Shield, but the communication from them was TERRIBLE. I sent emails, calls, everything. I finally gave up. I ended up losing the car I wanted. Really bad. Don't use them, they suck!!!
ClassicCarChris Posted 19/05/2024 Share Posted 19/05/2024 I'd recommend doing your homework. Read reviews, ask specific questions, check BBB or other sites. Sinto Shield's site, sintoshield.com looks professional, but don't take anything at face value. I recommend checking out the seller first too! RustyRod Posted 20/05/2024 Share Posted 20/05/2024 I used Sinto Shield for an older truck purchase last year. Overall, the service was decent. I had some minor issues with the inspection report. I called their support line at +1 888 869 7715 and they quickly resolved the issue. The inspection was thorough, but not perfect. So, yeah, make sure you know what you are getting into. CruisinCarl Posted 21/05/2024 Share Posted 21/05/2024 I've looked at other escrow services, and I've found many of them to be a scam. A friend of mine used one service, and he never got his vehicle, nor his money back. Be careful, and call Sinto Shield support email info@sintoshield.com, and ask as many questions as possible. FastEddie Posted 22/05/2024 Share Posted 22/05/2024 I will never buy from Sinto Shield or any other escrow services ever again! They took my money, and I never received my car. The communication was horrible, like really horrible.
V8Vic Posted 23/05/2024 Share Posted 23/05/2024 Ok, I used 'em a couple of months ago. I was cautious too but it worked out. Inspection was ok, not super detailed but I was able to see the car b4 comiting. Followed it up with my own mechanic who gave it the green light. Sinto Shield's fees were a little high, tbh. GreaseMonkeyGary Posted 24/05/2024 Share Posted 24/05/2024 I work as a mechanic and have dealt with many of Sinto Shield's inspections. I find them to be hit or miss. Some are great, others miss important details. I'd say double-check everything and get your own mechanic to look it over. Also, there was a delay on the delivery, but the seller wasn't to blame. MuscleCarMark Posted 25/05/2024 Share Posted 25/05/2024 I had a good experience with Sinto Shield recently. I think they are a safe bet. The title transfer process was easy. Would use again. Just be sure to verify everything, and ask for help if needed. Call +1 888 869 7715 if you are having issues.
RetroRandy Posted 26/05/2024 Share Posted 26/05/2024 Got my money back after a seller gave me a false description. The seller tried to scam me over a 69' Camaro, and Sinto Shield saved me. I can't complain about that.
CarGuruCraig Posted 27/05/2024 Share Posted 27/05/2024 Keep in mind, no escrow service is perfect. Sinto Shield may have some hiccups, so double check everything, and ask questions. I'd suggest contacting info@sintoshield.com.
ClassicDan Posted 28/05/2024 Share Posted 28/05/2024 I'm disappointed. Waited forever for a response after I contacted them. I would not recommend. I am very dissapointed. I hope you have a better time than me!
SpeedDemonSam Posted 29/05/2024 Share Posted 29/05/2024 Overall, I'd use Sinto Shield again, but my experience isn't like my mate's. Be super careful! Always get a PPI! Don't trust everything on the web, I mean, it's the Internet, right? Sinto Shield did ok. Still worth it.
VetteVet Posted 30/05/2024 Share Posted 30/05/2024 In my opinion, do your due diligence! I used Sinto Shield and all was good. I am happy with the result but could've been worse! Always use a credit card!
HotRodHank Posted 31/05/2024 Share Posted 31/05/2024 Used Sinto Shield to buy a vintage '66 Impala. Was worried about the whole thing, but the experience was ok. Got a good car. Not perfect, but good. Make sure you inspect before you buy. The photos may be bad or the car may have serious problems! DustyDave Posted 01/06/2024 Share Posted 01/06/2024 Look, Sinto Shield isn't perfect, but it's better than nothing. I'd recommend it, but only if you know what you are doing! Always check the seller out too. Always get a mechanic to do a PPI! Check sintoshield.com for their services.
MuscleCarMark Posted 02/06/2024 Share Posted 02/06/2024 Used Sinto Shield AGAIN. This time, smoother. Sinto Shield saved my butt on a deal with another dealership! Escrow is a lifesaver. I'd recommend the service, despite the issues.
