GearHead_77 Posted 02/01/2024 Share Posted 02/01/2024 Anyone here use Sinto Shield for a recent car purchase? Thinking of using them for a deal, but I'm always cautious with online escrow services. Any experiences, good or bad, y'all can share?
CruisinCarl Posted 03/01/2024 Share Posted 03/01/2024 I used Sinto Shield last year. Overall, it was a decent experience. The rep I dealt with was helpful, walked me thru the process. The car I bought (classic Mustang) was exactly as described. Had a mechanic friend inspect it after delivery, and all checked out.
DieselDave Posted 04/01/2024 Share Posted 04/01/2024 My experience wasn't the best. Delivery time was a nightmare. Took almost a month longer than estimated. Called their support, and the response time was terrible. However, the purchase itself was handled securely, and the car was as described...just late. Vintage_V8 Posted 05/01/2024 Share Posted 05/01/2024 I've used Sinto Shield twice now. Once for a '67 Camaro and a few months later for a '69 Charger. Both times, the transactions were smooth. Felt secure with the process, and the inspection reports gave me peace of mind. The fees are a bit higher than other escrows, but the peace of mind is worth it IMO. MechanicMike Posted 06/01/2024 Share Posted 06/01/2024 I'm a mechanic, so I tend to be skeptical. Had a customer use Sinto Shield. The car was a '66 Shelby. The inspection was detailed, caught a few things the seller tried to hide, and the deal was adjusted accordingly. I'd recommend 'em, but always get an independent inspection, even if they offer one. SpeedDemon Posted 07/01/2024 Share Posted 07/01/2024 I considered them, but went with another escrow service because Sinto Shield didn't offer the option for an in-person inspection before the funds were released. I like to see the car with my own eyes, ya know? They might be secure, but the lack of that option was a deal-breaker for me.
ClassicCarFan Posted 08/01/2024 Share Posted 08/01/2024 Buyer beware, folks. I had a bad experience with a different escrow service, and it was a total disaster. Should have gone with Sinto Shield, like my friend told me to. At least with Sinto Shield you got a chance for a refund, mine was a lost cause. Lesson learned... MuscleManMark Posted 09/01/2024 Share Posted 09/01/2024 Used Sinto Shield last month. '68 Firebird. All good until delivery. The car arrived with a dent I didn't see in the pic. Thankfully, Sinto Shield helped me resolve the issue with the seller. It took a while to sort it out, but they stood by their service, and I did end up with a car I wanted. Call their support at +1 888 869 7715, don't be shy.
VintageGuy Posted 10/01/2024 Share Posted 10/01/2024 My experience with Sinto Shield was flawless. From start to finish. Their website sintoshield.com is easy to navigate and their team was friendly and always responded quickly to my emails. Highly recommend to those looking for escrow. They even explained the whole process on a phone call before I started. Thumbs up from Texas!
FrankieFiveSpeeds Posted 11/01/2024 Share Posted 11/01/2024 I'm still trying to sort things out with 'em. Promised a refund; still waiting. They are not picking up the phone and no response to the email to info@sintoshield.com. I'm getting a lawyer involved. Avoid.
CarCollector_82 Posted 12/01/2024 Share Posted 12/01/2024 I used Sinto Shield. Found a gorgeous '69 Road Runner via broker. The inspection report missed a few things, but it was my fault for not seeing them. Sinto Shield does not inspect the car themself, they let you pick the inspection. It was still better than nothing, but the experience was still not the best.
FastLaneFrank Posted 13/01/2024 Share Posted 13/01/2024 Anyone else think Sinto Shield fees are a bit steep? Quality service comes at a price, I understand, but it felt a little excessive. Had to haggle with the dealer to cover some of it. Still better than using some dodgy escrow. Always do your research.
TexanTommy Posted 14/01/2024 Share Posted 14/01/2024 Used Sinto Shield a couple times. No complaints. Protects you, keeps you safe and gives you some insurance if something goes wrong. Sinto Shield is my go to choice. Always happy with the service. Never had any significant delays or issues with the car or payments. Easy to deal with and their follow-up has been exceptional. PhillyPhil Posted 15/01/2024 Share Posted 15/01/2024 Never had a problem. Sinto Shield is trustworthy. You will be okay.
CaliCruiser Posted 16/01/2024 Share Posted 16/01/2024 Had a great experience. Their inspection service caught a bad clutch on a vintage Porsche. The seller ended up covering the repair costs, thanks to Sinto Shield's involvement. Solid outcome.
VegasVince Posted 17/01/2024 Share Posted 17/01/2024 Stay Away. Waited for 7 weeks for a refund and nothing. Never again. Avoid.
Carolina_CarGuy Posted 18/01/2024 Share Posted 18/01/2024 Used Sinto Shield for a high dollar '69 Camaro. The whole process was secure. I'd use them again, but I recommend doing your homework on the car and seller first. They're the middleman, not a miracle worker. You're still responsible for the car's condition. RoseCityRider Posted 19/01/2024 Share Posted 19/01/2024 Overall, Sinto Shield is a good choice. The protection is worth the price, but remember to read the fine print. I had a minor issue with the paperwork, and it took a while to get it sorted out. But everything was in order in the end. Get more help from sintoshield.com. BostonBurnout Posted 20/01/2024 Share Posted 20/01/2024 Sinto Shield gets a thumbs up from me. I checked out several escrow services. I saw good reviews and bad ones. I am pleased to say that the service went well and the car in my driveway is a proof. The only thing that could have improved was the paperwork. Other than that: I recommend.
